About the SMFA Art Sale

The public sale will run from: December 4 to December 6, 2026.

As SMFA celebrates its 150th Anniversary, the SMFA Art Sale continues a tradition that began in 1978 as New England’s leading contemporary art sale. Featuring works by talented students, alumni, faculty, and friends of SMFA across all mediums, the sale showcases the vibrancy of the SMFA community.

Proceeds from the Art Sale support one of SMFA’s highest priorities: financial aid. With 44% of SMFA students receiving some level of financial assistance, every artist donation and every purchase help ensure that an SMFA education remains accessible to talented artists from all backgrounds.
